“If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.”
- Rudyard Kipling -
With the beginning of humanity came storytelling...after all, everyone loves a good story.
Recorded history tells us that centuries ago, there were professional storytellers who traveled from town to town, village to village simply to tell stories. Some were in the form of poems, some were sung and others were acted out. Their purpose was to entertain (with much exaggeration), to teach, and to pass along important cultural values.
The introduction of the printing press opened up a whole new world of storytelling which still exists today...gotta have my books! Television and movies brought us all kinds of stories and now, with technology being what it is, we have Facebook, Instagram, blogs, and other social media to entertain and teach. Then, of course, there is that one family member who simply mesmerizes everyone gathered at the holiday dinner table...they have everyone laughing or crying with their stories and usually are the life of the party.
As a memory artist, you have a unique way of telling your stories. You take pictures to depict the event, you chronicle what happened through your journaling and then you tie it all together creatively and artistically with your use of graphics and mixed media elements.
Enter "Tell Me Your Stories"...a beautiful, vintage-style journal/album uniquely and intentionally designed for your stories.
For the past couple of years, I've had quite a few emails asking if I would do a project in the style and colors that I used when I began teaching memory art classes and which became my signature...true vintage style. For those of you who asked...this one's for you!
This album has been designed to cross over time...you can use it for current pictures and stories or for times past...your old family photos and stories that have been passed down to you. It is layered and textured (I just wish the pictures could show the depth and dimension) and the many details add a vibrant energy to the project. Each page is designed to stand on its own, even if you don't have pictures or stories, and, of course, there are pullouts, tags, and pockets for those precious photos and the journaling to go with them. What's so fun is that you can add to this album over time...simply add a photo and story to a piece of neutral cardstock and insert it into the pocket or envelope on the page.
The pages are themed by a pre-printed title but you can totally change that theme by simply printing your own title on the extra parchment paper provided for you.
Don't you just want to reach out and touch the picture? Guess what? The people who will be reading your stories and paging through your journal/album will want to do the same thing!
If you love vintage, you will love the many stamped images that I hand stamp and include in your kit. You will enjoy the old book paper, the vintage graphic images, and the aged feel and look of the watercolor paper background of each page.
There's a huge stack of dies and stamps on my studio table right now...and ALL of them were used to make this project. Perfect for you in that you don't have to run out and buy them all, cut them, stamp them, etc. All done for you and put into special kits with detailed digital instructions and large color photos to help you put the pages together.
The kits are available for pre-order right now and I will begin shipping them out on April 25th. These luscious, vintage, perfect for storytelling kits are available for just $142, plus shipping (within the US, sales tax included in the shipping charge for AZ residents).
Don't miss out on this rare and beautiful project. Place your pre-order by clicking on the Buy Now button below and PayPal will notify me of your pre-order. Then, on April 25th, I'll start sending out the kits and will email you the digital instructions. Be the best storyteller you can be...start with a great project, add your amazing photos and then write the story...you will love how it all comes together.
As always, thanks for reading, for your orders, and your referrals to friends and family.
Telling the stories...one project at a time...from my studio to yours,
Carol
