I'm dyeing.
Before you go expending unnecessary sympathy for me, I'm not expiring (well, hopefully not :)) as in dying but I am coloring cloth. These fabrics are for the Life is Beautiful creatologie kit going out later this week...aren't they so pretty?
One of the things I love about hand dyeing fabrics is the inconsistency in color. There are some fun things you can do to create various shades and I'll be including some of those tips in the kit instructions. There's also a way to "cheat" so that you don't have to mix dyes and dunk...I'll also mention that as well. In the meantime, I learned my lesson from last month...WEAR RUBBER GLOVES! No dyed hands this time...that coral color took forever to come off!
Speaking of color, I snapped some colorful backyard pictures this morning and wanted to share with you.
I hope the colorful blooms brighten your day. Happy Sunday!
Hello Carol, Wow hand dyeing stuff. I LOVE those colors. Very beautiful. Good way to us excited to see the next kit. I love how you go above and beyond to make your kits "special". Your flowers are beautiful. I especially love the purple one at the top. Is that growing in the ground or in a pot? I am not familiar with what type it is but very pretty. I love flowers. I keep hounding my hubby to get some since our backyard is now ready. He said today he is worry our puppy will eat them. Arrgh so I guess I will have to get some and see how it goes. Have a great Sunday. Thanks for your shopping help last week. Greatly appreciated. Lori

your flower pics are quite nice, thanks for sharing... we did a project at asu once, in a watercolor class, i fondly call it our "scratch and sniff" watercolor project... we made our OWN watercolors using things like coffee grounds, spices, perfumes, etc... fun stuff. i remember doing an ocean painting with the homemade watercolors.
love your new banner carol!
