Do you remember a certain time period or year because of the birth of a child or grandchild, or moving to a new house, or taking a really special, exotic vacation? Maybe it was a graduation from college, the start of a new job or business...or maybe the day you retired.
You are definitely not alone...I can certainly relate to marking my calendar by outstanding events!

On March 31st, I will be hosting and teaching an Heirloom Workshop in my home.
You will be in for a treat!
The theme for the day is "Under The Tuscan Sun"...casual and relaxed, with a bit of Old World charm, and wonderful Arizona sunshine.
A great travel journal project, specially packaged just for you, superb food, and an outdoor garden setting at my home all contribute to make this one very memorable event.
This Heirloom Event will be the ninth Heirloom Event & Workshop that I've put together...I really love these events!
This year, I will be hosting only two of them...one on March 31st and one in the fall. The events are small, intimate and very personal...and this one is very nearly sold out. There are just a few openings right now...which is a wonderful opportunity for some of you who have wanted to experience at least one of these very special days.
What can you expect at an Heirloom Event/Workshop? From the moment you come in my front door until you leave at the end of the day, you will be treated as a special friend. You will be fed breakfast, a lunch (really more like a dinner) fit for a Queen, afternoon dessert and snacks in between...i.e., you will be eating all day, if you choose:)! You will be in the company of like creative minds...artists who love to explore and experiment with new materials and techniques. You will be encouraged to put your personal spin on the project if you want...or to follow the sample if that's what you want to do.
You will be provided with supplies from my personal collections so that you can stamp, paint, plaster and mold and patina to your heart's content.
Best of all, you will be relaxed, doing something that you absolutely love to do...CREATING (and eating, and talking, and shopping at the creatologie flea...you get the idea!).

This generic travel journal is filled to the brim with fun techniques. You'll be playing with metal, clay, plaster, paint, walnut ink, stencils, rubber stamps, a variety of papers, canvas, wood and fabric...definitely a unique fusion of techniques and materials and some great ways to stretch your creative imagination!
In the words of some of the attendees of previous events...it's truly a magical day!
Ashley (my daughter) and I have put together the menu (and of course have changed it numerous times...women's prerogative, right?) and you will be treated with foods you might find prepared for you by a chef in a Tuscan farmhouse or restaurant or trattoria. Can I just say gourmet goodness????
Weather-wise, you really can't do much better than Phoenix in March and April. It's usually warm, bright and sunny...a great place to thaw after the cold winters in other parts of the country. I have placed an advance order for sunshine and moderate temps that day :).
For those of you coming from out of state, I'd be happy to recommend some local hotels and of course, I've got a great list of places to shop (just in case you're interested ;)).
The cost for this special day is $327...great gourmet eating all day, the experience of hanging with friends and making new ones, and the take away of a fabulous album...definitely an event to make your calendar this year.
