It's with great excitement that I release the very first Heirloom Collection Workshop to Go...BON VOYAGE!
So many of you have written to ask if I was ever going to release instructions for the Heirloom projects. My standard response has been that "I am thinking about it". Well today, I've gone from thinking about it to actually doing it!
Why did it take so long to go from thinking about it to actually releasing it?
As those of you who have purchased an Heirloom kit know, the projects are pretty over the top. They aren't make in a day projects and each page contains layers of products, cool techniques and intricate details. Many of the products are one of a kind and not readily available, which makes it difficult to reproduce a project. So, the thinking process involved going through each project and deciding which one could actually be replicated in some format to come close to the original album.
Bon Voyage is the result of that process.
This project is a hand crafted book which you can make over and over again with differing themes. I know that many of you love to travel and have lots of pictures and stories...this is a wonderful journal to make to artistically display those photos and creatively tell your stories. Don't you just love the textures and how dimensional the album is?????
After spending days reformatting the instructions and photos, I figured out that what you are actually getting is the equivalent of about a 4 to 6 week online workshop...seriously, there are LOTS pages in this workshop to go. Not only will you learn how to build the book, but you will also be given the sources to purchase the products you need for the structure. Then, I take you through the book, from the cover to the last page, and give you the products used and suggested substitutions on a page by page basis. As always, I include large color photos, tips, and cool techniques that you can use again and again.
This project was a real favorite with the ladies who attended the two Spring Heirloom events last spring. In fact, I have had the privilege of seeing several completed albums...with the pictures and journaling artfully incorporated in each page. All I can say is "WOW...AMAZING"!
If you've never purchased an Heirloom kit, let me tell you a little about these projects. Most of the kits contain hundreds of pieces...and there is a lot of "behind the scenes" work done to get them ready. Images are pre-stamped, cloth, trims and ribbons are dyed, vintage postcards are scanned and printed, templates are created...the list is really quite extensive, which is why the kits sell for around $197 and why they are so limited in quantity.
Some of you have told me that you'd really love to create one of these Heirloom albums, but you've either missed out on ordering or they've been a little over budget. I totally understand...but now...NOW...is the time that you can get your hands on the instructions to make one of those coveted, hard to get projects.
Many of you have a lot of product stashed away in every crevice of your studio. You have lots of one of a kind items that you have been hoarding for just the right project. What you are looking for is some guidance to put your products together...a road map of sorts that will take you from a starting point to a finishing point...but will allow for lots of creative stops along the way. If this describes you, then Bon Voyage is the perfect project for you!
Around our house, we have a little saying that goes something like this. Some people like to fish, some like to buy their fish and others want to buy the fish sandwich. Over the years, through classes and the creatologie studio, I've given you all three options. There are "I start, you finish" projects...the fish sandwich which you take time to decorate. There's the opportunity to buy your fish...kits with the products and instructions all packaged and ready for you to assemble, or classes/workshops. And, finally, there's the opportunity to actually go fishing...an online workshop to go where you gather your materials and create your very own, one of a kind project.
If you are more of the type who likes to buy the fish sandwich, you will probably do better waiting for one of the "I start, you finish" projects to pop up. But, if you love the process of hunting and gathering your products, enjoy some independence when creating, really get a kick out of layering your pages with cool stuff and techniques and ending up with a unique album of your very own, you will absolutely love this Workshop to Go.
Oh, and before I forget, not only do you get supply lists, substitution suggestions for products I used, step by step instructions, and photos, you will also get the images of vintage postcards and vintage maps from my personal collection, and templates you will need to make your cover torso and flowers. What's so cool about that is that you can save these images and use them over and over again for albums, cards, posters, etc.
The Bon Voyage Workshop to Go and accompanying images will be available for a limited time for just $24.87. Wow, an amazing deal for the amount of information and the great ideas that you will get, plus, you'll be able to create when and where you want...and with products you really love and can't wait to use. And, totally in line with what a typical 4-6 week online workshop would cost.
But, don't wait...buy it now, as I will be removing the this from the site on January 19th.
Here's how it works. You simply click on the buy now button at the bottom of this post and PayPal will walk you through the order process. Then, I will be notified of your order and will send you the information needed to access the private, password protected site where you will find the downloadable workshop to go and all of the images. I'm usually pretty good about responding quickly...but if you could give me up to 48 hours to send the site access info, that would be soooo appreciated. If you don't hear from me by then, please email me and let me know...sometimes the order just doesn't come through.
