"Thought is the labor of the intellect, reverie is its pleasure."
Think back to the days of your childhood. Can you remember those sweet moments (or hours) when you indulged in reverie, or daydreaming? I sure can.
It seems that my best daydreaming time came when I was outside in the garden on a warm (or, most likely, hot :)) summer day. I would be comfortably ensconced in a padded lounge chair, decked out in my latest swimsuit, with my body slathered in baby oil (remember those days????). The birds would be chirping in the background and my mind would start drifting...to new outfits that I wanted to make or buy, to some guy that I thought was cute at the time, to how I wanted to fix up my room, or maybe to an upcoming family vacation. It was a great way to pass an hour or so...until my mom figured out that I was idle and needed some chores to do!
Daydreaming isn't a challenge for most children, is it?
It's when we "grow up" and have responsibilities and people counting on us that we sometimes forget that we really need that small indulgence of a little time to daydream.
The newest Heirloom Collection album is all about helping you remember that a bit of reverie, or daydreaming, really is a pleasure, one to be cherished and passed along to future generations. Or, it would be a fabulous way to collect the dreams of your children or grandchildren so that they could remember them when they got older.
The album is a three ring binder filled with soft colors to remind you of a summer garden or a day at the beach. There are beautiful ribbons and trims, gorgeous graphic 45 papers, unique fabrics and lots of great techniques to use in this album as well as future projects. And the embellishments...can I just say luscious? Lots of trinkets and treasures are included in your kit, plus you will learn how to make additional embellishments that will make your album a unique piece of memory art.
Have you ever seen small porcelain roses and wondered how to make them? Well, you will learn how to consistently make great, artsy and professional looking roses...and I'll even include some porcelain clay to make your project roses, plus a few more!
Or, how about unique handmade flowers? There are three different types of flowers that you will be making from scratch...oh, just think of how you can use them later on tote bags, as brooches, or maybe on a tee shirt.
Shimmery organza photos, soft water colored backgrounds, a quilted fabric bird, and a hand made pin board are just a few other wonderful techniques that you will learn.
What do you get in your kit? You will get a pre-made binder album, all of the fabrics, ribbons, trims and papers shown in my sample, and embellishments galore, all beautifully packaged to make you swoon. There will also be a set of watercolors, porcelain clay and tiny glass beads included in each kit. Finally, you will received a set of step by step, easy to understand instructions for each page of the album, with color photos of the completed page as well as some of the details.
And, if doing an album about daydreams isn't your thing, well, no worries!
Your kit will come with a completed title block if you do want a daydream book as well as an empty block for you to stamp, handwrite, or computer generate your own title. The interior of the book is flexible and somewhat feminine...and it would be a wonderful way to showcase family or friends or maybe a tribute book to a special female in your life.
There are custom, stamped images which I will do for you...and custom molded arms/hands (also made my moi) which you can paint to match your skin tones. I'll tell you how I made them...and will even share some supply sources with you so that you can make your own molded pieces. Ah...definitely fun, definitely blissful!
I know that you are really going to love creating this whimsical book...adding your pictures and stories will be icing on the cake!
How about if I let you see the inside of this book? Just click on the You Tube video below that Ashley put together for me...and enjoy! I did a little rambling along with showing you the pages...guess my excitement got a little carried away:).
Did that make you grin????? Hope you enjoyed it and, if you did, you will be delighted to know that...
