And, it will explode your life with spring colors!
Spring! I’m guessing that many of you just can’t wait for it to come this year as you are totally surrounded by snow, ice and frigid temps. I love Spring—the colors, the coming alive of plants and animals who hibernated through the winter, little seedlings pushing their way up through the damp earth, the bright blue sky, the bit of nip in the breeze, Spring cleaning (well, maybe don’t love that one so much J), airing out the house—are you seeing and feeling Spring with me?
In many parts of the country, Spring can be a little tenuous and sometimes it’s here and gone in the blink of an eye. I thought it’d be fun to give you a bit of this season that you can enjoy and truly savor for a long time.
Enter “Nuances de Printemps”, or “shades of spring” in French. This book, third in the series of The Heirloom Collection, is handmade and beautifully appointed with colors and flowers of this wonderful season.
I have to tell you that this is probably one of the prettiest books I’ve ever created. Some of the pages are amazingly detailed with bits of lace, tiny flowers, ribbons and leaves. A couple of the pages give you a starting point with room for your ideas and creativity to blossom. There are vintage flowers and leaves, pieces of old lace, and rich fabrics included throughout the book.
You will create several different types of fabric flowers, the art of which may be transferred to home décor projects as well as clothing. In addition to the handmade flowers, you will create a pewter charm, you will make a book by hand, and you will design an amazing smocked fabric page that will just tickle your soul because it’s so easy. Most of the pages are layered without sewing, although you can choose to do some machine stitching if you wish. And, of course, your kit will come with step by step instructions and color photos of each of the pages as well as some of the steps.
If you are looking for a quick and easy project to put together in a flash, I need to tell you that this kit is probably not for you. This project is intricate and meant to be savored in the process and it will take some time to put together, and finish off with your photos and journaling. Taking time and savoring the creative process can be such a good thing—it allows for inspiration and spontaneity to take root and start blooming, something that doesn’t often happen when we rush through a project.
Many of you asked me to create a similar book to the very first Heirloom Collection canvas book that I released last year. I wanted you to know that the structure of this kit is identical to that very vintage, autumn looking book—but that’s where the similarity ends. The interior flavor is so very different with an emphasis on a soft and shabby look. I’ve been collecting old lace for quite some time and I’ll be sharing those pieces in this kit, along with some lace and trims made in
I wanted you to have a peek inside the book, so, with the help of my daughter Ashley, created a little video for you.
On February 24th, at approximately 6:00 PM Arizona Time (Mountain Standard), I will be posting this limited edition project for sale.
Because this is the project that I’ll be teaching at my home on March 6th, the numbers for purchase online will be very limited.

OK, for you techno geeks, get your devices programmed for tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m. If technology isn’t your thing, last time I checked, Post-It notes still do the trick!
To order, simply head over to the PayPal storefront on the sidebar and click on the picture of the book. PayPal will walk you through the process and will send me a copy of your order.
I’m excited to share this third book with you and can’t wait until I get to teach the project and ship out your kits. Online kits will begin shipping out on March 13th. Maybe you will start seeing “Nuances de Printemps” by then—hopefully, right?
As always, thanks for your orders and your referrals to family and friends.
