out of commission...

Vitex ...mostly.

This morning, I was out on the patio...buzzing around when all of a sudden I took a step and my lower back froze up.  I literally couldn't take a step.  Fortunately, I was right next to one of the patio chairs and grabbed on until the spasm passed.  I still have no clue what caused it...there were no twinges ahead of time...no warnings.

Unfortunately, I've had a hard time getting around...despite icing my lower back, popping Motrin and liberally plastering myself with muscle rub lotions.  I'm moving around like a very, very old woman...can sit for short periods of time...can't lay down.  It's going to be interesting to try to sleep tonight!!!

Since I can do short stints of (very) slow walking shuffling, standing and sitting, I've been working on next month's creatologie kit project...I'm so excited about how it's looking...I can almost forget the pain!

The other thing that I can do is to shop online!!!!  So I placed an order with Papier Valise, one of my favorite sources for vintage stuff.  You'll see a couple of the pieces in the June kit.  Retail therapy seems to work better than Motrin!

Tomorrow, I'm gonna see if Vern or Ash can take me to a massage therapist...maybe that will do the trick.  Until then, I'm going to count on happy endorphins that come from creating!  I'm rarely sick and I can't remember the last time I couldn't get around well, so I'm definitely ready to be over this...right now!

Hope you have a fabulous week!

Oh Carol! sorry to hear your back is giving you trouble! I sure hope you feel better soon!!

smiles,

Hi Carol. That happened to me once just getting out of bed in the morning. Don't know why. Muscle relaxers helped but whacked me out. I was told to ice it too. Took a little while. I really feel your pain. Take care and go slowly. Your flowers in the picture are so beautiful. I love the lilacs we have here in Jersey. Feel better my friend.

Feel better honey. Retail therapy always helps even if it is just a little. Your flower bush is so pretty. Hugs Grace

Ouch, I feel your pain. Hope you are doing better

Rest easy and apply heat to your back. And take lots and lots of Advil. Retail therapy and reading are great remedies too!!!

Hope you are feeling better.

Hi Carol,
Hope you get to feeling better very soon.

Yikes . . . been there, done that. Mine was when I sneezed and bent down to pick something up at the same time. Massage therapist is good and ice. Also this little trick works for me and others ~ you get a tennis ball, place it on your back where you are experiencing the pain and push it against a wall. Slowly start pushing against it, until you can't stand it anymore. Release and wait a few minutes and do it again. It causes a reverse spasm. Keep taking your Advil or Motrin. Once it starts to feel better start doing some back strengthening excerises and you'll be so much better. I'm not to far away (Mesa), just let me know and I would love to help you do some of your kits, plus I would love to see you again.

Sorry about your back. What works for me is putting those pain patches or Bengay patches on, esp. in the area where it really hurts and leaving them on...not moving a lot...and eating chocolate! The patches really make you smell like an old lady so then you have an excuse to be stiff and in pain...people might even find you a chair! Smile! Feel better soon.

Carol
wishing you a speedy recovery. I hope your back is much improved today

Carol--i can so sympathize with you--in that i have been there done that. Not fun at all. Rest really is one of the best things-and anti-inflam. drugs. I love the pictures of your flowers--did you alter the color because my blossoms look much more purple--even my son was surprised that those were from the same tree we have. Very pretty--makes me want to go and photograph my tree now.

So sorry to hear about your back. I like the idea of retail therapy! LOL Sending you healing wishes!

Oh Carol, I totally know where you are coming from with your back! I hope the massage worked, but you may need to see a chiropractor. AND, I just found Paper Valise today, thanks to some enabling from Ali, and of course I had to start the morning with some retail therapy - what cute stuff!! Can't wait to see what is in the next kit! Hope your back improves each day!
