giveaway!
It's a new year...it's the end of a long week...it's definitely a good time for me to do a giveaway.
I'm going to give away one of my white book samples...the book that I taught at Scrap Gala in Moncton, NB in November. It's a finished book...all you need to do is add your photos and some extra frou-frou if you want.
I thought everyone would be tired of reading about, hearing about and seeing the white book. Apparently not.
There's hardly a day that goes by without an email in my inbox from someone wanting to know if I have extra kits or if I'm going to teach the white book class again. I don't have extra kits...and I am going to teach it again. It was suggested that maybe I do an ongoing white book class...changing out product and techniques...kind of make it a series. I love that idea (thanks, Valerie!) so look for one for summer and a new one for the holidays.
In the meantime, here's your opportunity to win a completed one.
All you have to do is to leave me a comment about something you want to accomplish this year. Doesn't have to be big...doesn't have to be earth shattering...doesn't have to win you the Nobel Peace Prize. My thinking is that I'd rather tell myself I'm going to do one small thing and actually accomplish it than to tell myself I'm going to do 5 really huge things and end up not getting any of them done.
I'll leave this open until Tuesday at noon and then will just randomly draw a name.
As always...thanks for reading, for your sweet and thoughtful comments and emails and just for being you!

Wow Carol, how awesome! Love the white book!!
Let's see, for me, this year I want to focus on trying to not overthink my scrapbooking! To just let go and be me. I think that I often get caught up in what everyone else is doing, I try to create like "them" and I lose sense of what I do best...so, that's my plan this year, to just be the best me I can be!

Oh wow, how I love that book! :)
I have lots of things I want to accomplish this year. I started a small photography business in the fall so I want to nourish and grow that. I want to continue my weight loss (70# down and almost at goal!). Most of all, I want to live in the moment more. I'm a planner and a doer so it's hard for me to just BE. So that's my Ali word of the year and I plan to take time every day to just BE in the moment and to enjoy my growing-way-too-fast kids.

My number one goal this year is the health of me and my family.

Carol,
Something I want to accomplish this year is to find the floor in my home. No matter the room, the floor is always covered with boxes, magazines, shoes, dog hair, etc. I want to be able to vacuum and swiffer without dodging the stuff and use the floor for its intended purpose!

Number one goal is to get my whole family to start living a much healthier lifestyle. I found out on Jan. 3 that I have gallstone-so basically I have to change my diet and lifestyle to prevent attacks (which are painful and uncomfortable). It's been a big adjustment for us and I've gotten lots of complaints about the food (aka healthy and not so "yummy as junk food") but I figure, I'd rather prevent my family from going through what I had to. I'm just sorry it took a visit to the ER to get me to really follow through with this goal (I've had this goal for 2 years now).

So many goals, so little time; however, I want to get more organized (ugh!). Too much stuff! Want to spend more time taking photos and applying those to books that I make myself. I wish for health, happiness, and peace for my family, friends, and the world. Also wish time would slow down, just a little. (Won't happen!) My word for the year will be ORGANIZE.
Love your work, buy your books, and another wish is to be as creative as your are!
Happy New Year to you and yours!

I am trying to buy less and scrap more! My word is Focus, and not feeling the need to buy all the newest and coolest, but to use a lot of the great stuff I already have is only one of the things that I am focusing on this year!

Hi Carol,
Happy New Year! My goal this year is to keep a daily journal--daily happenings, remembering visits with family/friends, ideas for projects (including sketches), remembering how blessed I am to have all the above. And, especially, to chronical the cute things my little cat, Katie Elizabeth, does that make me smile--she so fills my heart with joy and love. Anyway, that's my goal this year--so far, so good. I have a few goals but the one thing that is an underlying theme in all of them to MOVE FORWARD... Get up off the couch and take a walk everyday is the one I am working on right now... even if its to the mailbox and back.
(others incase your interested... work on my camera skills, clean the basement out, organize my scrapspace.... move forward!)

My goal is to give more time to me in everyway....creativity, health, relaxation, and meditation...the list could go on and on, but being a mommy of three is just so demanding that I have neglected myself, and it's time to change that!
hugs to you, carol.

Oh, yes, this is a gorgeous item for you to give away!! Love it. And as for goals, things to accomplish during this next year?..Well, frankly, I just hope to get through it with my husband by my side. I wish I could aspire to the above noble verbs, but happy are we in living one day at a time. Any day is beautiful when one has someone to cherish closeby.

Ohhhhhh - I so want this book!!!!! What i hope to accomplish this year is to balance my life. I seem to either spend all my time in the craft room and no family time or all family time and no time in the craft room. So, I want to manage my time and balance my life so I have quality time with family and time to complete long overdue projects. Wish me luck!

Gosh, where do I start? I would like to, among other things, QUIT smoking. I have been smoking since I was 16 and it is taking a toll on my health and I want to be a good example for my son. Wish me luck!!!

My goal is to stop wasting so much time! Sometimes at the end of the week I have little to show except a clean house and a well fed family. Don't get me wrong that isn't a waste of time but I need to restructure my time so that I make more art!!

Give myself more ME time. That is all I need is more ME time, oh and spend less...yes, give myself more ME time and spend less...oh yeah, and try to walk more. Yes, give myself more ME time, spend less and walk more, that is all I need. OH OH, and and and.... well it is never ending...Life is good.
Love your blog, Carol. Love all the randomness of it, crafting, family, home, etc.

Oh, I absolutely love this book!!!!
I have so many goals this year but my main one is to visit family more. I have lost so many older members of my family in the last 2 years and we all tend to put off visiting that everytime someone dies I have this guilt that overwhelms me. When I think of someone I am going to visit them right away before it is too late. Thanks for this reminder to do just that.
Happy 2008!!!

I've been thinking about art journaling a lot and I would like to start my first art journal this year. The art part will hopefully allow me to "play" more with all my art supplies, to just let go and experiment with all the "stuff" I've been collecting over the years. The journaling part will allow me hopefully to reflect on the good and bad of my daily life (learn from the bad, do more of the good), jot down all my "AHA" moments as it relates to motherhood, family, business and art passions, and overall, learn and grow.

Love, love, love your White book :)
The one thing I want to accomplish this year is to lose 10lbs. I have about 30 more than that to get to my goal weight, but for now, I'm thinking 10. Starting small :)

I really enjoy your blog and loved the BPS Color class last summer. I have found that it's much more productive for me to select very specific tangible goals rather than intangible ones like "be more creative" so . . . I want to finish the Baltimore Album quilt I started 6 years ago, I want to learn photoshop elements and try some digi pages and elements, and I want to take at least 50 photos a month - I think that's better for me than to say I want to take better photos - the sheer quantity will help improve the quality. I love your white book and would love to win it. thanks for such a great blog.

Here is one simple thing I am going to do this year. My family is going to eat every Sunday dinner in our dining room. See we have a formal dining room and it barely gets used. What a waste. I want to change that this year. Thanks! Kim
