good things...
It's been a busy, but good busy, weekend.
I noticed this morning that Scrap Scene had linked to my blog about a project I taught on Friday. Since that project, the party hat, was one that I had made just for decoration, I thought I'd post a peek at one we actually did. :)
Between doing two Christmas layouts in Friday's class and going shopping with Ashley at the new San Tan Marketplace, I am definitely getting in the holiday spirit. The Marketplace was great...they just opened on Friday so there's still a lot to do but listen to this lineup of stores...all on one little block of the outdoor mall. There's Coach on the corner, J Jill right next door and a Sephora next to that...just not yet opened...then a Clark's store. Across the street, there's Chico's, Coldwater Creek and Ann Taylor Loft. If the planners had asked me what I wanted all in one location, that would have been my list...and all just steps away from each other. Awesome, isn't it?
Added to that, I've been furiously putting together my kits for Scrap Gala, which is just around the corner in November. The kits need to get shipped to New Brunswick in the next couple of days so I really need to get into gear. Yikes. Here are some of the books that will be converted into white holiday books...I think that the white book is becoming one of my signature projects. It's been a lot of fun to make them because I do them differently each time I teach a white book class. Keeps things interesting for me and for the class, I hope!
The other thing that has me in the holiday spirit is the fact that I did my album cover for this year's Christmas album. I got tired of shifting all of the product that I was saving for the album from one spot to another and finally decided to just get efficient and get it done. It's done! I love the 7 gypsies velvet rub-ons and the Prima black bling flourish...it looks like the cover is dotted with little bits of black onyx.
Let the holidays begin! What sorts of fun things have you been working on to prep for the holidays?
By the way, I forgot to mention that my friend Jennifer interviewed me a few weeks ago and that interview is posted on Scrap Jazz...FUN! Thanks, Jennifer!

I was so down I needed a pick me up and thank you for not disapointing me yet again! I came home from work put pj's on was going to make tea and lay down watch tv and now I think I will "create"! Thank you so much for puting a smile on my face ...... again! Your hat was so cute I was in Home Goods yesterday and they had so many cutesy items like that! OMG, we must be twins! Those are all my favorite stores too, in fact most of my closet came from those stores. Love your Christmas album, it really looks cool. I have just finished making some ornaments using some of jenni bowlin's bird chipboard pieces. If you have any extra white album kits let me know. Really enjoyed making the previous one made of cd mailers.

Hi Carol!
I have not been here in a while, and how exciting to see that you are doing the white albums again!!
My mom and I loved putting ours together! If you have any extras, we would certainly be interested in doing another version!!
I too have been working on many holiday projects, so much fun!

I enjoyed the article at SJ. Rebecca Sower is one person I'd love to take a class with too. And your kits are adorable. :)

OMG! I goggled the San Tan Marketplace and it also brought up the San Tan Village. That's like a 1/2 mile from where I used to live. Can't believe that that sleepy little corner of Gilbert is now a bustling, huge outdoor mall. And I don't live there any more! Wah!! haha
I have lots of projects in the words - ornaments, Xmas ATCs for my ATC group, Xmas cards, books for my sisters highlighting my grandma's life (she recently passed away in April), Xmas album for my mom, little paper mittens to hold goodies for my co-workers. So many things to do...and Christmas just doesn't seem that far away. Eeeeekkkkk!

Oh, that album cover is beautiful - what a fantastic idea to add a little personalization to Christmas Decor! And THANK YOU for the wonderful interview. Your answers were inspirational and insightful!
