Wishfest...a little peek

Wishfest_wish_for_you_sneak What a great week it's been so far...a holiday on Monday, seeing friends  Jeanette and Pam for a good part of the day yesterday, plus having lunch and a little shopping time with friends Paula and Jill...totally a fabulous day.  There's more lunching today and then, tomorrow morning, it's off to the hotel to play!

Before taking off, I just wanted to post a peek at the two projects I'll be teaching at Wishfest, sponsored by My Daughter's Wish in Walnut Creek, CA at the end of the month.  This one at the left is pink and feminine...in keeping with ScrapPink fundraiser that is this event.

Wishfest_remember_when_sneak The other is just a fun folio to be used for special events, travel or special moments...all about remembering those special times.

Hope you have the weekend available to create, crop and play...all for a great cause.

It would sure be great to see you there!

in the holiday spirit...

Happy Labor Day!  It's great to have another day tacked onto the weekend, isn't it?

Holiday_spirit While today is a holiday, the holiday spirit I'm talking about isn't Labor Day...it's actually CHRISTMAS!

Quite honestly, there are so many things happening between now and then that I have no business even thinking about it but how can I not when I just bought some fabulous Christmas papers and embellies, plus did an inspiration run to Barney's yesterday?

Making Memories, true to form and under friend Margie's creative direction, has again come out with some awesome stuff...holly leaves with little brad berries (ADORABLE!), luscious ribbons (WHO CAN RESIST?), and journaling stickers (TOTAL VINTAGE CHARM!).  Add to that some great new classic papers from Anna Griffin, chipboard Christmas trees and holly leaves/berries from my friend Crystle at Magistical Memories, velvet ribbon from Maya Road, and gorgeous crystal flourishes from Prima.  Can you see why I'm ready to start a Christmas album?

On top of that, I just picked up the brand new Somerset Holidays & Celebrations mag and a new book called Country Living Merry & Bright: 301 Festive Ideas for Celebrating Christmas.  Talk about feeling inspired!

If I had a fairy godmother, I'd ask for a 4 day weekend to do nothing but create...oh wait...I DO have such a weekend coming up!  It's called CREATIVE ESCAPE!  Now the question is this...if I take all the stuff, will I really end up working on it?   Hmmmm...

Anyway, hope you have a happy holiday...wanna come over today and build a Christmas album with me?

today's agenda = clutter busting!!!

Enough is enough.  The clutter is totally getting to me so my agenda today is to bust through most of it.

Life_stories_frame_upsusie My supply rolling duffle that I brought back from Boston is still packed.  Add to that, when security totally dismantled my suitcase to check every ink pad, rubber stamp, container of glue and of course, the most lethal of weapons, the Crop-A-Dial, they literally threw everything into the suitcase.  I pack all of the spillables into plastic shoe boxes and they inserted them upside down which caused one of my craft paint containers to spill.  Fortunately, the mess is contained to stuff in the plastic box...which is mostly paints, glue, Omni Gel and inks.  Time to unpack and clean up that mess.

I had project samples due for Wishfest this week...the mess from those samples is still out on the kitchen counter.

I had a Life Stories class at Scrapbooks, Etc. yesterday and all the stuff I took to class, plus the never ending purchases I made while at the store are on the family room floor. (The page above is one of the ones we did in class.)

My dryer is on the blink...the rubber gasket which keeps the drum from rubbing against the dryer metal is shot...for the fifth time.  Fortunately, I had an extended warranty which covered the repairs the first 4 times.  Unfortunately, the extended warranty ran out several months ago.   Very, very early this morning, I paid a visit to Lowe's and a new Bosch dryer to match the front load washer we bought several months ago will be delivered this afternoon.  Good thing as the laundry pile is HUGE!

There's a box of product from cherry Arte in Australia (they are sponsoring my classes in Edmonton in October) which needs to be kitted up this weekend for my classes at Canada's Scrapbooking Crop for Kids.  One less box on the floor once the kits get done and shipped out.  Yay!

I think that's plenty to keep me busy for a good part of the day.

On a little different note, last night we celebrated Ashley's 22nd birthday by taking her out to House of Tricks in Tempe.  It was a great dinner!  We are really blessed to have her as our daughter...plus, I really enjoy being her mom.  We love you and thank God for you, Ash!

Better go get some stuff done...blogging is an awesome way to procrastinate!   Happy Labor Day Weekend!

I'm off to bust some clutter!
