They're done. The kits for my online class with Blue Bazaar in Australia are ready to go out the door bright and early tomorrow morning. Here's a sneak peek of the project we are making...and some of the over 80 pieces that are part of the kit...
Classes with a kit are in limited supply...kitless online classes are unlimited (at least I think they are!). This is going to be a fun book to make...from my totally unbiased point of view...LOL.
I love making books. I've been trained by professionals in creating traditional books. But, do you know what I love best? Making books that are doable but with a little bit of a challenge, fun, and meaningful...books that share a part of yourself and your family to those that pick them up and read them. For years, book arts have been shrouded with mystery...mysterious terms and mysterious instructions. It gives me great personal satisfaction to debunk the mystery. :))
My passion for books began when in early 2002 when I started teaching book classes at the legendary Memory Lane. It was an incredible experience to then be able to work with many talented artists as the lead on The Book Book, published by Autumn Leaves. If you haven't had a chance to see this book, it's really pretty cool...it definitely stretched us as artists to come up with fun, doable but challenging and meaningful projects. You can get a copy of The Book Book here.
The passion for creating books is still alive...and it just thrills my soul to hear someone who's never made a book rave about the book they just created. It's music to my ears when someone tells me it wasn't as hard as it looked. Yes!
So, if you're in Australia, and you're looking to make a fun, doable but challenging, and meaningful book, check out the Blue Bazaar site for details about the class. Hope to have a chance to chat with you.

The project looks awesome... bet you are glad to be waving bye bye to the kits and looking forward to the fun part .. teaching the class!!!! Tena
